Say hello to our honey process single origin from Costa Rica! Tarrazu is the highest producing canton in Costa Rica--an area affectionately referred to as the country’s nursery for great coffee. 

 

After harvest the beans are left to mingle with the mucilage layer leftover from the fruit, encouraging natural fermentation. This process doesn't involve actual honey, but does impart an insane sweetness difficult to achieve without additives. We roast it low and slow, stopping at a full city (medium) roast degree for optimal effect.

  • Costa Rica coffee is special and dedicated to protecting biodiversity. Only a third of the size of Louisiana, 25% of the land is protected and nearly 60% reforested. Local coffee consumption is high and we want you to share the Pura Vida!

    European Process (or EP) indicates there are no more than 4 defects per 1,000 cofee beans and is part of hand-sorting process

    Honey Process is similar to a natural process in that the mucilage of the coffee cherry, or coffee honey, is left on during the drying phase.

    This roast is a City Plus, a medium roast, and has a drawn out sweet middle and refreshing acidity. Great for any filtered coffee methods. We recommend Chemex!
